this is superior to most of the beers i have had in here. its an imperial saison, but not insanely yeasty, it has some softly sweet pale malt flavor, a floral and even honey complexion, and a drying finish that hides the alcohol strength of the beer very well. its a little more dialed in than most of their others i have had, and shows some technical improvement for sure. its golden in color, not thick or cloudy at all doesnt look as strong as it is either. the yeast is mostly belgian tasting to me, soft of herbaceous and grassy even, tea-like, with some light orchard fruit notes to it, and a flowery vibe towards the finish. malt base seems simple, a pils type and a real light wheat i all, but maybe some dextrose or something to boost the alcohol, it doesnt seem big enough in feel to have been made this strong with grain alone, but i could be wrong. i have always found the beer in here to be a little flat, and while this is short of fully effervescent, its a nice lively mouthfeel that really makes this a dangerously easy drinking beer for as strong as it is. nice strong saison here, one of my favorites so far from green room.
