Enjoyed from the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This decent
dopplebock pours a clear red tinged amber with a nice head of white foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin slight pool, and showcases subtle lacing. Nose of
caramel malts, subtle toasted malts, and very subtle fruity esters. Flavors
follow the nose with light fruity esters that are more likened to stone fruits
of peaches as in a helles with a touch of breaded malts and medium caramel
malts that are given a good dose of herbal zesty hop notes on the rear as balance
with a touch of medium strong grain elements. Very nice mouth feel; medium
light carbonation that is lively, medium light body, and a lightly sweet finish.
Overall, a decent doppel but could use more sweetness and a touch less hops
to the style. Nice
Cheers
