16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent local release. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/amber, light reddish/pink color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky light pink head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, red grape, citrus peel, peppercorn, clove, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, spicy rye bread, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of raspberries, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and light-moderate pale/rye malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, red grape, citrus peel, peppercorn, clove, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, spicy rye bread, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Moderate herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; peppery yeast/rye spiciness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, red grape, citrus peel, peppercorn, clove, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, spicy rye bread, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and light-moderate pale/rye malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness and fruit tang/tartness balance; anno puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness, fruit tang/tartness, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready, grainy, sticky, acidic, tangy, tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent fruited table saison. All around great raspberries, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and light-moderate pale/rye malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink; with the moderately bitter/spicy/tart/tangy drying finish. Not overwhelming on any flavors. Great balance of juicy/jammy raspberries, Brett/Saison yeast complexity, and earthy hops; with a nice solid pale/rye malt backbone. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Just as impressive as the base beer with added fruit.
