Sour Ale with Cherries — No, this beer isn't named for the season of Fall. Rather, it's named after one of the waterways meandering through Indianapolis — Fall Creek. We brewed this sour ale with real cherries to be consumed any time of year. Optimally while enjoying the natural beauty all around us every day

Pours a cloudy amber with pink hues, a half inch white head that leaves decent spotty lacing. Smells of tart cherries, some mustiness and a bit of funk. Tastes of tart cherries, raspberries, a bit of lemon, some funk and mustiness, yeast, white bread and a slightly metallic quality. Pours a cloudy copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and poor lacing. Smells of sweet malt, subtle cherry, hint of juniper, hint of sage, hint of yeast, and slight bacterial funk. Fits the style of an American Wild Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is a noticeable dryness and tartness. Tastes of sweet malt, subtle cherry, hint of juniper, hint of sage, hint of yeast, and slight bacterial funk. Overall, weak appearance, good aroma, body, and feel.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, raspberry, lemon, lime, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with light notes of leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, cherries, and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, raspberry, lemon, lime, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with light notes of leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, raspberry, lemon, lime, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light funk/vinegar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, cherries, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, bready/grainy/acidic/tangy, fairly crisp, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is a very nice fruited sour/wild ale. All around nice omplexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, cherries, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish, not overly lactic. I was hoping for it to be more jammy on the cherries, but still quite impressive. Well rounded Brett/lacto complexity, balanced cherries, and a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Enjoyed from a pint can dated late April 2018. Pours a sickly bronze color with a finger of head that lingers for a while--more viscous than expected from 7.5% ABV. Modest cherry aroma on the nose, light tartness, and a whiff of butyric acid that hits a touch more strongly on the palate. Flavor profile has the one-dimensional flatness I associate with most kettle sours. Enjoyable and refreshing to cool off after a hot day, but not one of my favorite Central State brews.

Poured from a 16 oz. can into a tulip glass.
This beer pours a beautiful mix of red and orange. One finger crown that is off white with pink tint to it.
There is a bunch of hay on the nose. Huge earthy tones.
The taste is rather underwhelming. Has some slight cherry and other berry notes along with the hay.
The mouthfeel comes in tart and turns dry pretty quickly.
Overall, this wasn't bad but I did want more from the flavor.
