had this on draft at a local bar.
pours jet black with a thin head.
smell was mild and had nice coffee aroma to it.
went down smooth, nice body to a 5% stout. creamy beer and nice flavor but nothing special.
enjoyable and good flavor but nothing special.

Usually any milk stout under 6% is a little too thing for me or lacks in the flavor department. There are only about 1 or 2 exceptions to the rule and this one is now another of them. The coffee flavor isn't overwhelming at all and is indeed really smooth. I was definitely surprised at how much this beer brought to the table considering it is indeed a 5%-ish beer.
Tried it first in the flight, had it after in a full glass. Would definitely love to have this again.

32oz. growler into a Heady Topper stemless snifter.
Looks pretty typical but aroma is out of this world! Huge espresso, chocolate, roasted malt and lactose notes. Creamy and vanilla-y all the way through with a bursting coffee scent. Excellent! Flavor is chocolate, espresso, mocha, roasted malt, lactose and vanilla. Creamy with a coffee coarseness that smooths out as it goes down. Amazing flavor considering the body and ABV of the brew. Light and drinkable on the palate and goes down super smooth yet quenching. Makes you come back for more!
My first beer from this brewery and to say that I'm impressed is an understatement. I can't wait to see where Conclave is a year or 2 down the line if they keep turning out beers like this one!
