On draught at the brewery. It pours a dark cola with an impressive khaki-colored head and lacing. It has the nose of a coffee porter: mostly roasted malt, burnt coffee, and nuts. I didn't smell any pumpkin. The taste is similar: burnt coffee grounds, roasted malt, and earthy nuts. There is also a hint of pumpkin pie spices but it's subdued. This is an easy drinker with moderate carbonation and a middling 6.2% ABV. Overall, this is a perfectly acceptable porter but because it's brewed by Conclave I was expecting something special.

A pumpkin porter with really limited pumpkin notes. There's a tremendous toasted malt porter that forms the base of this beer, but the "pumpkin" element is more a pumpkin spice character: clove, nutmeg, and allspice. A good beer (essentially a spiced porter), but nothing to write home about.
