The weather is finally getting cooler (kinda) and so starts the craving for darker beer. Our newest beer is Transcendent Leaf Peeping. Brewed with English base malt and a fun mix of dark malts, this porter was made to be full while remaining crisp, simple and drinkable. Notes of chocolate fudge, brownie mix and a light roast. Channel your inner Bob Ross, go on a forest walk, and peep the changing leaves and then swing by, have a glass and tell us what you think.

Poured from freshly filled growler into a pint glass. Ir pours a deep walnut color with cola hues, and a half finger of creamy, medium-khaki head and lacing. A nice roasty aroma of chocolate malt, caramel, buttery nuts, and tobacco. This is nice! It's roasty with lots of burnt coffee grounds, baker's chocolate, charred nuts, and a hint of caramel. It finishes with mild bitterness. The mouth feel is moderately creamy with low carbonation. I'm not sure whether that is typical or the growler wasn't capped tightly enough (it was taped with electrical tape). At 5.8% ABV I'll have no trouble finishing the 32 oz. growler. Overall, Transcendent Leaf Peeping is delightful. While it doesn't have the "wow" factor of some of Conclave's offerings, it is solid in every respect. For someone who hasn't had a Porter before this would be a great introduction to the style.
