I had this beer for the first time when I was back in Wisconsin for the 20th reunion at Marquette, Memorial Day week 2024.
I'm writing the first review of this beer for this Next Glass owned website. Tis not enough to simply add the beer to the database, there is a need for content here to say the least. Respect Next Glass!
Blonde beer pours blonde, but with a little extra ooomph in the appearance barley wise. Sturdy might be the word. 1/3" white head. The aroma caught me off guard, I had to check, is this a lager? Says no, but boy that yeast made me think lager. Thirteen days, I got five to go. Had me thinking, is this a kolsch or a steam beer maybe? You know, one of those tweeners? The mystery continues.
The taste continued much in the straddling lager and ale vein. Definitely more interesting than your average blonde ale. Lofty mouthfeel, good crispness. Middle of the road mild Saaz like hopping. I swear I don't know what is even going on, but hey, I like the taste and mouthfeel and that counts for so much even if it doesn't fit nicely into a category. Who knows, maybe dipshit server wanting a living wage gave me the wrong beer.
