Type: 12-oz. can

Glass: Clear 16-oz. Bruges beer glass
Price: $10.99 for a 6-pack
From: Lazy Acres in Hermosa Beach, Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 14, 2022
Consumed: Jan. 16, 2022
Misc.: Packaged on Sept. 22, 2021
Bought a 6-pack of this on a recent trip to the Manhattan Beach area. Had three of these before this review, giving each a 3.75 on Untappd. First on July 19, 2018 for a taster, writing “Like an Anchor Steam, but good.” Then had two more full cans of this after purchasing the 6-pack.The Untappd description was ““Topa Topa's new steam beer. Very similar to Anchor Steam and very delicious.”
Poured a deep amber-to-light copper semi-clear color with four fingers of rocky-to-frothy off-white head. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled dark fruit, caramel, toffee, herbal, fig and some lingering spice. About as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order got caramel, toffee, dark fruit, fig, black pepper and herbal. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Toasty finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Much better than my previous tastes. This was very good overall. (Overall - 4.00)
