Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Firestone 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $3.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 17, 2020
Consumed: Sept. 26, 2020
Misc.: Packaged Sept. 1, 2020
Picked up a can of this with a bunch of other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Back of the can read, “What would you do if we gave you a brewww… that combines citrus and beer? Lend us your glass or drink from the can- we’ll go ahead and take it from here! Oh, we get by with a little help from our Friend’s… Ranch! Poured a medium yellow-to-golden hazy color with five fingers of rocky white head. Plenty of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect layered spiderweb lacing. Perfect foamy retention. Such a good looking beer. (Sight - 5.00)
Smelled orange citrus, orange creamsicle, lemon, grapefruit, orange juice, floral and orange tooth polish. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste followed the nose, maybe not quite as good. No hiding that 7.7 pct. ABV. Got orange citrus, orange creamsicle, lemon, grapefruit, floral, orange juice, screwdriver mixed drink and orange tooth polish. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Just an excellent beer for what it was. Probably the best Topa Topa beer I’ve had. (Overall - 4.25)
