On tap into a stang glass at the brewery. Reviewed from notes dated September 2, 2015.
A-The beer arrives with a short, off-white head. That foam sticks around for a while leaving some lacing on the glass. The head sits atop a nice looking amber liquid. The beer is pretty still in the glass and mostly clear.
S-The aroma is a bit earthy, nicely nutty, and malty. There are some light citrus hop notes lurking underneath the barley and malt flavors.
T-The taste, like the smell, is nutty and malt-forward. I get some good barley malt flavors, a little bit of caramel sweetness, and a hint of citrus on the back end.
M-The body is slightly heavy for the style and a bit chewy.
O-This is a solid beer. I like the flavor profile quite a bit, but would like it more if the beer had a little more carbonation to leaven it up a bit.
