Gifted a Pounder Can by friend. Gave it a rough pour and regretted it. It poured a lovely full head, but it dissipated and I may have removed some carbonation from body of the beer. Head deteriorated to somewhat soap suds and no lacing (3.5)
Having said that the color and clarity of the beer were excellent (4.5). Gorgeous rusty amber which had great orange highlights to sunlight. Remarkably good!
Initial nose was present but somewhat muddled. However with a little warming to cellar temp it threw off a very nice malty pumpkin enhanced aroma.
Likewise with taste... as it moved from cold to cool it had a very nice marzen character enhanced not crushed with pumpkin. Delicious.
Mouthfeel was consistently moderately light and smooth. Very cask like. Wish I had done a gentler pour as it lacked some carbonation and this may have been my fault.
Overall... misses but more hits. Can’t get past the clean beauty of this fragrant tasty brew. I’m not a pumpkin beer person but really enjoyed this.
Would definitely try again. Hopefully on cask/firkin.
Nice job!
