2/20/24 Update
Grabbed a can at the Sodus Bay Bridge tap room. Canned 10/18/23. Found that brew poured an excellent plumy tan head that had good lacing and prominent halo. Upped look to 4.25. Also 2023 release continued to be 6.8 abv
Just had this on tap at Sodus Bay tap room. Had seen it reviewed on Untapped at a lesser abv … so this may be a more recent brew.
Anyway, this is a remarkably nice coffee stout. It has look of a good but everyday stout Very nice deep brown/ ruby accented color. But next to nothing head and not a touch of lacing. But nose and flavor are exceptionally rich with chocolate as well as coffee. A bit of bitterness noticeable. But a very well rounded flavorful stout.
Surprisingly and happily the mouth feel is full and smooth. Hadn’t expected an under 7% brew to have that much of a malty rich body. Really nice.
Overall a real treat and something to definitely have again.
Great job Lunkenheimer.
