A very well balanced imperial IPA. Great overall taste and smooth profile. Hides the alcohol very well. I picked this up the day it was canned and was very pleasantly surprised.

Hazed orange-bronze color with a reddish-pinkish hue. Finger of light tan head leaves thin sheets of lacing.

Big piney aroma with a touch of orange and caramel malt. A little wood behind.

The taste largely follows the nose. There's a big piney bite up front, some orange and malty sweetness mid-palate and then a surprisingly smooth, creamy woodiness. Fairly strong bitterness mixed with light wood in the aftertaste.

Thick bodied with a creamy feel, and just enough carbonation to cut through.

This is a really tasty one. Nice West Coast forest vibe without overdoing it on the cypress wood. 9/8/17 canned on date.

16 oz can poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.

Appearance
Lightly hazy. Rustic amber. Short khaki head. Moderate carbonation.

Nose
Oak, cedar, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, honey, and caramel.

Taste
Firm caramel and honey maltiness. Nice woody flavor somewhere between white oak and cedar. Mild grapefruit juice, pineapple, and mango. Finishes with pine air freshener and lemon zest.

Mouthfeel
Medium-plus bodied, silky, crisp, sticky, dry, and moderately bitter.

Overall
The flavors meld well together. Very smooth and easy drinking for the abv.
