Not worth your trouble. Not distinguished in anyway. Slight whiff of coconut on opening. Metallic in character. Pretty much tasteless, odourless. "For the performance focused.", says the can. Nope. Even those people can't be fooled more than once. This is a fairly crummy beer, but unoffensive. Not suitable as a summer cooler, either.

Tallboy picked up at TBS; dated E1515 (May 15 2015) and served well-chilled. I've never had coconut water, but I do consider myself highly performance focused, so I'd like to thank Sleeman's marketing department for reaching out specifically to those who tirelessly focus on performance, like myself. Way to synergize some cutting edge new paradigms outside of the box, or something, but I preferred the bootlegger pirate ancestor gimmick.
Pours a crystal clear pale-golden hue, producing one finger of dense, white froth. It vanishes over the next couple of minutes, leaving behind a modest, foamy collar and a few patches of lace. Looks fine to me. The nose is relatively inoffensive - a bit grainy and fruity, with a few vegetal notes as it warms.
Joking aside, this is actually well above average by light lager standards, in that it is something I could conceivably drink multiple cans of, one after another. It kind of tastes like a lighter version of their Original Draught - grainy pale malts, with corny sweetness. I wouldn't know what coconut water tastes like, but it doesn't seem to be much of a factor here, other than maybe a bit of background saltiness. Finishes with some weak grassiness; relatively dry from that point on. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation levels that offer a good bite, and overall a surprisingly smooth, almost slick feel on the palate. Highly drinkable, and mostly inoffensive - both traits I'd consider strengths in a light lager.
Final Grade: 3.26, a forgettable C+. Sleeman Lift is nothing special, but it's still a perfectly acceptable light beer that I wouldn't turn down in the future. I was expecting something much weirder, but am pleasantly surprised with this - it is much better than Sleeman Clear, at least, and ahead of most of the macro light lagers by at least a few steps. Not sure what, if anything, the coconut water adds, other than some minerals. You could do much worse than this, but it's not something I plan to return to.
