This is certainly a cut above the macros (U.S. and Canadian), but ultimately gets undone by the sweetness. Very refreshing, with more body and malt than most beers of the style. Still, it has hints of macro-adjunct taste, and is on the watery side. If you are into this style of beer however, this one is pretty decent. I would like to compare it to Yuengling, a beer on about the same level. Drink it cold (but not "ice cold") and enjoy it for what it is (and lets hope they don't mess with our beloved Unibroue!).

amber colour with creamy head. Malt but only subtly sweet. Clean crisp dry finish as with other Sleemans, with little aftertaste. Better than average national brand. Popular with mates and the masses. Best served cold. Creemore is the standard in lager.

Clear. Deep golden in color with a creamy white head that holds well and leaves a very good lace. The aroma is limited to a clean sweet malt. The body is medium with a very fine and somewhat effervescent carbonation; giving it a lightly creamy & somewhat oily mouthfeel. The flavor is far richer than one would expect from the color. It is, however, just one flavor throughout with a sweet maltiness that lingers in the finish.
This beer's popularity is really based on the presentation - which is quite nice - of a clear embossed bottle with just a neck label. It doesn't really matter what's in the bottle as long as it's golden. It's a beer for the mainstream, but I was surprised at how big and malty it is. Quite one-sided and sweet, however. Still nice.

This was a decent lager. A bit heavier (more syrupy) than I like my lager. It is best when VERY cold. I had one that started to get warm and it was not so good. Not a bad beer, but I liked Molson much better.

Presentation: 12oz clear embossed bottle. No label, other than a neck label.
Appearance: A rich golden-amber coloured beer. Pours a creamy white head that settles quickly into a semi-sticking lace.
Smell: Grain, herbal, phenolic and that unique "Canadian skunk" aroma.
Taste: Very smooth and creamy on the palate. A pretty balanced and mild beer, a bit crisp and dry at times. Malt characters a slightly toasty with little sweetness, but ample body for the style. Hop flavours are light, herbal-like and subtle, with a quick and breaking twang. Distinct phenolic flavours. Finish is very clean.
Notes: Sleeman Premium Lager is brewed for the US market. It's a very drinkable lager, better than others from its style category, but nothing overly special.
