355 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Part of the Sleeman mixed 6 pack.
Appearance - An aggressive pour yielded a clear rich copper colored brew with two fingers of soapy and long lasting white head.
Smell - Clean and grainy with a creamed corn sweetness and cooked veggies. No spiciness or anything else to indicate rye.
Taste - Initially sweet, with some bitterness coming through and a hint of rye. Otherwise pretty much tasting like other Sleeman products.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, expressive carbonation and drying finish.
Overall - Better than I thought it'd be and one of the better Sleeman beers I've had, however compared to other rye beers out there, this doesn't hold a candle to them.

341 mL bottle from TBS, included in their Fireside Favourites seasonal 12 pack. Coded Sept 19 2019 and served barely chilled.
Pours a bright, clear golden-amber colour; it's crowned with one finger of soapy, foamy white head that lasts for several minutes, coating the glass with a generous layer of lacing as it recedes. A creamy collar and thin cap remain in place - looks rather good in the glass, but the aroma is nothing to get excited about. Cereal grains, rye bread and caramelized malts come to mind, with maybe a touch of grassiness also coming through.
Inoffensive but plain - it tastes of grainy malts, doughy bread and lightly caramelized sugars, with the actual rye flavour being a fairly minor facet of the flavour profile. Not much changes through the sip and into the finish - perhaps a hint of grassy hops, with a mildly sweet aftertaste that doesn't linger. Light in body, with moderately low carbonation levels that gently prickle the palate, resulting in a smooth, slick mouthfeel. Effortlessly easy to toss back.
Final Grade: 3.31, a B-. Sleeman's Harvest Rye Lager is above average for a macro, and might actually be the best of the four products contained within this sampler... but taken as a rye beer? Nah, it just didn't do much of anything for me - the rye is too mild, and there's not enough else going on to keep my interest for long. If you're considering picking up the mixed pack solely to try this beer, it's probably not worth it - unless of course, you don't mind the extra bottles of Cream Ale, OD and Honey Brown.
