473 mL can from the LCBO; coded May 29 2024 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a crystal clear pale golden colour, producing half a finger of loose, foamy white head that fizzles away well within a minute's time. A sickly thin collar is the only remnant worth noting, as there's no cap and very scant lace deposition - looks more or less the same as any Sleeman Clear variant. The aroma is nothing but blueberry, and it doesn't come off as particularly authentic, either (i.e. there's no doubt it's pure flavouring). One thing I will say is that the aroma, for better or for worse, is more assertive than that of the peach or pineapple versions.

The flavours are ok - its initially-subtle blueberry fruitiness transmutes into more of a fake blueberry, diet-sports-drink kind of deal later on in the sip. I do get hints of cereal grains, too, as well as a touch of blackberry; finishes with fake blueberry and an unexpected spiciness, both of which quickly dissipate. Mineral water aftertaste. Light-bodied and heavily carbonated, resulting in a very fizzy, thin and watery mouthfeel. It's easy to drink quickly, and pretty refreshing.

Final Grade: 3.0, magically pulling a C+ out of its hat. I still prefer the lime variant, but Sleeman Clear 2.0 Blueberry is similarly tolerable - and yes, that's meant to be damningly faint praise. The blueberry comes off as fake, but this is such a watery beverage that I can't rightfully accuse it of being 'cloying' - though I can characterize it as a mediocre industrial light lager. Clearly this is not the kind of lager I'd seek out and buy again, even occasionally, but I can see why some people might appreciate it more than I do. An adequate hot weather thirst quencher.
