2 months old. Can to wine glass.

Look: Pours a lightly hazy dark orange with a foamy white head that lasts quite long and leaves a bit of lacing. No floaters.

Smell: Light citrusy notes. Slightly sweet. Hints of tropical fruits.

Taste: Some citrusy notes, some tropical notes. Medium sweetness and a bitter, slightly dry finish.

Feel: Crisp and clean with a medium carbonation.

Overall: A refreshing, highly crushable Pale Ale, that almost drinks like a (Vienna) lager. Even though some hints of the typical, fruity pale ale notes can be detected, the overall taste is a rather light and a bit underwhelming.

Headband makes me ask if it was necessary to create the NEIPA style... because it gets mimicked pretty well here.
Being a purist who likes some clarity in his ales, I still give Headband above average points for being creatively orange.
Smells are big-time fruity that only the NEIPA achieves (but, whatever.) Tastes are balanced, bitterness never takes over the ale... although it does linger more than I like. Feels good in my mouth after figuring out London's transit.

My first from Verdant, they produce pretty good beer for being only five years old. They just opened a fish restaurant in their native southwest England and seem to do a host of marketing stuff. So, they probably will make it and make people happy along the way with good food and brew.

CAN - July 5 (8 weeks)
Glowing hazy Sunkist; tangerine segments, pineapple, a bit of dank, and flowers; Triscuits + toffee, then a ton of sun-ripened orange, papaya, slight weed, apricot, sugared grapefruit + light pine; humming bitter linger; prickly + salty.

Mosaic, Citra, Columbus, Chinook

Splits the difference between modern and old school - incredible juice, but the Munich + Crystal gives it a touch of sweetness to hang off of; there are real IBUs; the New England yeast is all orchard fruit esters... This beer does so many things right. If I'm finding fault, the carb is a bit high - despite oats + that yeast, not coming across particularly smooth. But this is one of the beers that built Verdant's rep, and deservedly.

A 440ml can with a BB of July 2018. Purchased recently from Costcutter. The label describes it as a pale ale brewed with five malts and hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Columbus and Chinook.

A: Poured into a tulip. Can-conditioned. A very hazy orange-amber hue with tons of fine suspended sediment. Almost murky. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a moment or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of incredible fruity hops with hints of citrus zest, peel, tropical fruit, stone fruit, white grape, caramel malt, ale yeast and earthiness. Amazing hoppy aroma.

T: Tastes of intense aromatic hops with notes of citrus zest, peel, passionfruit, tropical fruit, stone fruit, white grape, subtle leafiness, caramel malt, ale yeast and earthiness. Fairly dry, followed by a modest bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly with pleasant carbonation and a soft, rounded body. Lightly astringent. Aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, citrus zest, tropical fruit, leafiness, caramel malt and earthy yeast.

O: Fantastic - a superbly hoppy pale ale with an incredible fruity character. Looks alright (NEIPAish), while the aroma and flavour are lovely; hop aroma underpinned by caramel malt and earthy yeast. Good body. A delight for the senses - well worth sampling if you love hops.

Pours a hazy light orange, with fine head.

Smell is tropial and juicy, with nice hits of mango, orange and pineapple.

Taste is less tropical than the smell. plenty of orange and pineapple leading in to a pretty robust bitterness. Dry finish.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice pale ale, fairly bitter, but still very drinkable.

Hazy orange color with off-white head, looks like juice. Aroma has juicy, citrusy hops. Taste follows, sweet and juicy at first with nice tangerine and peach notes. Finish has a light hop bitterness with red grapefruit flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Overall it's a really nice, juicy pale ale, goes down really well.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a huge, froth white head.

Smells of blood oranges and lime pulp, balanced by a noteable white bread dough maltiness. An intriguing juicier hop quality gets recognizable once the beer warms up, consisting of guave, papaya and ripe oranges.

Drinks very refreshing, crisp and light, with a well nuanced dose of bitter hops, complimented by a lively carbonation.

Tastes of lime and unripe oranges with a prominent, balancing bread crust maltiness. Very light, especially during midpalate, while its carbonation is lively enough to prevent the taste from becoming watery. Finishes with a bright sweetness, which perfectly adds a riper note of oranges to the hops.

Well nuanced, light and refreshing with a pleasant bitter bite. A nice juice note lends character to the hops, echoed by a minor sweetness from the malts.
