Hidden River Brewing Co. "Abstract & Intrepid"
on tap at the brewery on 1 April 2017
Look: Black body with gleaming mahogany highlights beneath a short head of creamy tan. Better than average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Fruity with dark chocolate. There's some odd phenol like plastic... it's not bad, but at the same time it's not good.
Taste: As the aroma suggests with some added roastiness. The raspberry is also clear, rather than just 'fruity'. Moderately bitter. Very nicely balanced.
Feel: Medium bodied with a gently crisp carbonation that warms to become softer across the palate.
Overall: With the exception of the odd note in the aroma it's quite nice, and really, almost compellingly drinkable.
