Hidden River Brewing Co. "Velvet Luster"
on tap at the brewery on 1 April 2017
Look: Clear mahogany body with a ruby cast beneath a short but creamy light tan head. Slightly better than average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Dark skinned fruit and dark caramel malt.
Taste: As the aroma suggests with plum, fig, apple, and a very mild Belgian yeast phenols of plastic, clove, and "spiciness". Mild bitterness. Earthy, mildly leafy and grassy hops in the dry finish.
Feel: Medium-light in body with a smooth, fine bubbled moderate carbonation.
Overall: Refined and highly enjoyable.
