a very lively, brett driven, oak forward saison thats both full flavored and delicate, my first beer from little fish is both ambitious and well executed, cool to have some of this beer come out to colorado this fall, i had not heard of them before i found this one on tap at the crafty fox. looks very belgian in the glass, with a frothing white head rising as high as the liquid itself, which is straw colored, lightly hazy, and quite pretty to look at. a rustic bretty funk right away on the nose, faint lemon acidity, dried grass, white wine, and new oak, its pleasing and soft and lively, springy, and floral in a way that suggests a great understanding of these yeasts, it smells professional. the flavor is just as good, with it not being quite as dry as the bretty mustiness indicated to me in the nose, some light citrus in here at the end, fluffy wheat malt, and a distinct white wine fruitiness to it, but also grassy and briefly astringent. this is delicate in all the right ways, effervescently carbonated and nuanced without being too much. this is exactly what i look for in the style, and a really impressive first taste of little fish beer for me. looking forward to more! this is really, really good.

Another good Farmhouse Ale from Little Fish.
(L) The color is hazy light golden/yellow with a very thick frothy white head.
(A) The aroma is grass and lemon.
(T) The taste is grassy, grapefruit, perhaps some floral notes, just delicious.
(F) It is jusicy and easy to drink but watch out when you pour, it is foamy.

750 ml bottle, if I remember correctly I think this was released around December 2015. This one was a bit of a gusher, so I had to let it settle down a bit before I started to drink it. Served in a Prairie Teku, the beer pours a hazy gold color with a couple inch frothy white head. Head retention and lacing were both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like lemon peel, funk, hay, and bready/grainy malt. The taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some peppery spice, apple, oak and floral earthiness noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's very well carbonated but the soft carbonation helps make this easy to drink. This is another good brew from Little Fish, I've liked everything I've tried from them so far! Definitely worth picking up. $13.99 a bottle.

Pale yellow, 100% clear. Leather, barn yard funk, lemon, carbonation a bit low, white head, Belgium lace, wonderful saison!

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a huge white head. This one was a gusher as soon as I popped the top. Distinctly Brett-influenced funky aroma with barnyard, straw and grass. Slight lemon in the background. The taste is complex, with tastes of grass, clove and spice with a light, funky note. This was an enjoyable Brett Saison. Nice funkiness but not over powering.
