Purchased as a single 12.7oz bottle from the brewery itself for $16. Poured into a tulip glass.
L - Black, with a brown highlight. Pours thick. No head. Fantastic legs on this one. Bits of cake floating around the bottom of the glass.
S - Sugary. Notes of concentrated natural strawberry, yellow cake, and wheat. Underlying generic berry aroma.
T - Follows nose exactly, but is followed with a wonderful base of cream. Finish is sticky sweet, and full of strawberry.
F - Full-bodied, with no carbonation. Creamy. Smooth. Heavy.
O - A fantastic dessert stout. Props to Newgrass on this one - I really do know how hard it is to get natural strawberry through to the end product, and they nailed it. If this is treated as purely a dessert stout, this is almost perfect; a bit too sweet, if I'm being honest. Despite the sweetness and the ABV - and while definitely a sipper - it's surprisingly drinkable. Definitely worth a try.
