weirdly named but very well made beer here. i thought all of the hop forward beers we had here were good, and while this isnt the most different or original brew, it has a real charm to it, something that makes it better than average. i appreciate it not being overly malty, the desire for breweries to balance hops with grain in ipa is a frustration of mine, and this is not overdone there, instead it seems like more late kettle and dry hopping was done in order to reduce overall perceived bitterness, and therefore lower the apparent need for more malt heft to balance. bright citrusy hop nose and taste, orange peel, grapefruit zest, and even lime, a touch of sweetness, a squarely medium body, and enough carbonation to keep it moving. it also warms up pretty well, i had been drinking most of the day by the time i got to this one, and was on a relaxed pace. usually hop forward beer falls apart when it warms past a certain point, but this came to near room temperature delightfully. less refreshing than the oj session ipa they do, but equally juicy and delicious!
