Looking almost like butterscotch in a glass, this sucker came to the table displaying a startlingly thick and muddy maize to tan hue with a creamily dense white head leaving cobwebs of lace on the glass.
The weirdest "cream ale" I've ever had, it translates more like a wheat or hefe, but without the phenols. Who knows if this is even the beer we ordered, or if this was just the bottom of the keg, but it's got a kind of toasty but mild malt presence and a hint of spicy dankness that's a little metallic after the cottonmouth dry finish.

i dont ask much from the humble cream ale, so when i receive without asking, i am generally pretty stoked. this cream ale is way ahead of the curve, and has me asking myself (as i so often do when i encounter a good one) why more craft breweries dont start making them. this is clear pale golden in color, foamy enough, and wildy carbonated. it has a nice mild pils type grain flavor to it, and the quick top fermentation and cool conditioning is obvious, as the clean nature and crispness of this has it almost drinking like a pale lager. almost a corn flavor in the middle, not like adjunct corn in macro beer, but like sweet sliver corn on the cob at the peak of its season, a really neat quality to have here. the yeast is not flavorless even though it is clean, a baking sort of element is there, which i really like, but its all very light. just a tiny bit of hop bitterness helps it finish. hyper refreshing with all the carbonation, and despite being so simple in its presentation, its quality makes it memorable. i liked all the beers here, even the weird ones, but it was their straightforward stuff like this one that impressed me the most.
