American lager intentionally brewed in Berliner Weisse fashion. Fermented with lager yeast, lactobacillus, and Brettanomyces. Aged in an old cypress foudre.

Bottled in Oct 2014 but not distributed until the spring and not bought by me until the summer.
From distance the aroma was kinda' sweet with hints of hops, but up close more traditional for style. Tart with a bit of funkiness. There is a uniqiness from either the cypress or the hops, but it adds an interesting difference.
Smallish head that leaves rather quickly. Quite cloudy and while it pours looking thin, in the glass it doesn't look like that so much.
Nice complexity in the taste. The hops are definitely there. Subtle but noticeable with an earthy, herbal manner and seem similar to German type hops. There is a mild drying on the finish and while the cypress tanks don't add a wood character, there seems to be a wood quality to the drying, somehow. Prominent tartness with hints of sweetness and some fruit.
A little bigger feel than some of the others in the Noble Star series. Still highly carbonated.
This is pretty good. Hard for me to determine the impact of the lager yeast. It could be some of the additional character that I'm picking up.

Clear straw color with lively carbonation. The head dissipates quickly.
It's light and tart with some green apple funk and a bit of Belgian wit spices. Not a great Berliner, I don't think it's worth the price.

Pours a cloudy honey yellow. The head dissipates in time. Has a tart crisp amazing taste. Very easy to drink and is a pallet changer. Could drink this all day. Very good beer!
