I really wanted to love this beer, but it fell in the just satisfactory category. Feels like a light lager with some caramel and chocolate notes. Certainly not as noteworthy as Chimney Sweep. I like the body and carbonation. Very smooth. I bought the Harvest Pack just to try this beer. I would not buy a 6-pack but would recommend it to people to try.

This beer pours a ruddy brown, tinging to black, with a moderate head. The aroma is soft with notes of toffee, coffee, and roast grain. The flavor is medium roasty, with burnt toast, dry caramel, and a dusty quality. The mouthfeel is very light with moderate carbonation. Overall this is a great style example - light and easy drinking, but with a nice roastiness, and simple elegance.

Khaki tan head. Dark copper color. Lace.

This one falls short of the normal Schells mark I am used to. Lacking flavor compared to others they've made in this style. Lots of roasted malts and cocoa. Grassy hops. Caramel.
