1905 VT pours a translucent black color, with a large, lacing head. Doughy aroma, thick. Flavor is doughy with a creamy malt backbone, hints of sour, and a light finish. Watery body. Overall, a pretty nice beer, just a little too watery.

Part of the Schell's Harvest Beers mix pack. Also contains a witbier that I am less excited about than this beer. Dark brown color with a red tint. A small head forms and moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass. Aroma of dark Munich malt with the hints of dark bread, toast, and a bit of herbal hops. Mild flavor that I would compare to a dark Munich lager than a bock. I would compare it to Schadenfruede from Surly, only better. But still nice flavor of malt and a bit of hop bitterness for balance. Feels a bit thin but that is not do to the carbonation. Feels like a lighter lager.

Aroma is sweet malt, a little roasty. Dark brown color with a 1 inch light tan head, thick and bubbly. The head leaves a thick lacing as it recedes at a moderate pace. Moderate feel and body. Mild initial taste, lots of malt presence, with roasty caramel and lending just a bit of a coffee tinge to the taste. Very slight bittering in the finish. An excellent bock.
