L: Pours a hazy yellow, frothy head fades quickly leaving a nicely laced glass.
S: Nose gets some pine & citrus.
T: Citrus rind, sweet malts.
F: Light bodied, nicely carbonated.
O: Not a bad IPA all.

12oz can, a newer Schell's offering
Looks great, gold, fine haze/sediment, amazing movie worthy lacing on the glass. Smell is warm malt, honey, pine, grass clippings, bag of leaves. Flavor is sorrily flat, not much going on, pine and citrus and medicinal bitter, oofda
Not a terrible beer, a pretty decent beer actually, but a terrible IPA

Tall white and airy head with excellent retention. Globby and sticky lacing. Yellow-orange with a zeller-esque slight haze and moderate to low carbonation.
Terrific aroma; fresh grapefruit, some floral, hints of pine.
Taste is as expected from the aroma - fresh grapefruit at the front. Lightly bitter (for an IPA) up front, which remains relatively consistent through the middle and finish, but grows into the aftertaste. The malts provide a bit of a sweet counterbalance to the hops. The floral flavors are present in the middle and continues. The pine shows up in the finish. The finish is a bit sweet, but also moderately bitter.
The body is a bit thin, but solid enough for the style.
Overall, this is a very tasty IPA. Lots of flavor, nicely balanced by sweetish malts, with just enough bittering to let you know it is an IPA. Some well-regarded MN BAs speak poorly of this beer, but I found it to be quite enjoyable and refreshing.

12oz can best by date June 5, 2021
47-50 degrees poured into a pint glass.
L: Pours a light yellow pale straw, more or less transparent, tall med thick head, A fair amount of med thick lacing.
S: Has a flowery hop nose with honeysuckle, light crackery malt grain, esters and pine.
T: Hop forward, clean tasting, pine, lemon zest, pineapple. It has a mid-length finish with lemon zest lingering. A firm simple hop framework holds this beer together but the hops aren't shoehorned in and they don't take over.
F: Med-light bodied and a very drinkable 5.8%ABV IPA that wants to be dank but is instead quite clean, well carbonated, crisp yet subtly smooth. A clean hoppy basis decorates the nature of this fine IPA.

12oz can. Stamped on can bottom is best by date of '060521'.
Very slightly cloudy, pale gold color. Thin white cap with the pour, which sticks around. Leaves some lacing walls just above the beer surface.
Aroma of floral and grapefruit pith hops. Sweet malt base.
Taste is full of citrus pith and floral hops. Sweet malt base. Trails off with some bitterness.
Medium mouth feel. Low alcohol expression. Very good carbonation.
Very good, beyond expectations. For a first time IPA Schells has excelled. Not in the trendy fruity, soft, hazy style but with an IPA that has some hoppy bite and a sweet malt base.

This one tends to be overlooked which is a shame. A well-balanced brew that recalls the pre-hazy, dry-hopped era.
Light body, semi-sweet malt profile with enough bitterness for a clean finish. The 5.8% abv makes it quite approachable.

IPA pours a lighter bronze color, with a small, but long lasting and lacing head. Strong malty aroma, very farm like. Flavor is malt forward, with some earth, and a bitter finish. Good body and feel. Overall, its a nice, not bad IPA. Malt forward, with some earth notes, and some bitterness too.

This is an IPA that brings me back 10-15 years and is very refreshing and well made.
Glowing yellow color...hazy....big citrus and tropical fruit aroma.....tangerines, oranges, pineapple, and a touch of limes.
Flavor is similar...excellent fresh squeezed hop flavor....again tangerines and pineapples....oranges...a little bit of limes..a bit of pink grapefruit notable as well.
Body is medium....semi dry finish...definitely not over sweet or in the NE IPA style....
I find this very enjoyable. It's an IPA I would definitely reach for when at the store if in 12 or 6 packs. Not sure if they do that or not but I have not seen it anywhere other than a sampler pack so far.

Goose Island Nonic Pint
Pours a rather light color, close to an AAL, with a nice amount of clarity. Head is tall and a thing of beauty. The lace is thick and rings around the glass all the way down. Wonderful.
Aroma is of grapefruit pith and a flower garden. Very floral and citrusy. Slight cracker/grain.
Flavor brings some DMS and corn, followed by harsh floral/perfume notes, some grapefruit zest, lemon, and dill.
Feel is crisp and carbonated, with a heavy starch/coating on the palate. Minimal warming alcohol.
Overall, not quite a balanced IPA, and the squirts of perfume in the mouth aren't really my thing.

Appearance: Pours a hazy, golden color with a moderate and clean white head that lingers. (3.75)
Aroma: Ripe orange, pineapple, and dank grape on the nose. All dank citrus and tropical fruit. Little to pine. (3.50)
Flavor: This flavor is pretty unique. Strong orange and grape citrus. The grape citrus evolves into a firework and artificial plastic flavor. Not really pleasant, but also not too off-putting. A sweet toasted honey and wheat malt backbone. Little to no bitterness. For the lower alcohol it has pretty good flavors. (3.50)
Feel: Medium bodied. Less-carbonation. Finishes heavier and definitely the malt sweetness lingering on the tongue. (3.5)
Overall: Ehh, an alright IPA. Unique in the plastic, dank sweet grape, and firework flavor. It's not a flavor I would recommend, but definitely glad I tried their IPA. Probably not coming back to as the flavor needs some refinement. For the lower ABV I am more generous on the rating. (Final Rating 3.37)

On tap. White head. Lots of lace. Clear golden color.
Earthy, floral, light bitterness. Some fruity citrus, but really a nice west coast/Midwest ipa. Drinking really easy. Lighter bodied for an ipa.
