Had this at 2010 Firkin Fest

Pours a fizzy tan head. Dark brown in color, near black.

Aroma: roasted malts, caramel, and chocolate. Fresh grassy/earthy with slight oak chip flavors (nothing very heavy here).

Taste: More wood and oak flavors here. Chocolate, coffee, caramel, and roasted malts. Fairly rich with lots of grassy hops. I like it.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and refreshing. Medium bodied for the style with a lower amount of carbonation. Ends roasted and dry.

Overall, a very unique offering from Schells. Good, but nothing mind blowing. It is however, very drinkable. Glad to see the guys out there throwing some beer on oak chips.
