Clear ruby-brown, moderate level of rising bubbles, with a towering, thick, tan, soft-serve head that has excellent retention and leaves rows of sticky lacing.
Nutty brown sugar aroma, toffee, lightly roasted.
Flavors repeat the aroma, with the addition of caramel and grass. The roasted malts are more prominent, but still in the background. The initial taste is smooth, slightly sweet, transitioning with the roasty bitterness appearing in the middle and ending with a roasty somewhat dry finish and light roasted bitterness lingering in the aftertaste. The aftertaste is excellent.
The mouth feel is light and smooth, with easy drinkability.
Overall, a well-done traditional porter that, thankfully, has not been tarted up with all kinds of adjunks. It has just the right flavors and just the right touch of roastiness and bittering. If you like porters, grab it while you still can. It's only in the Schell's Brewer's Stash variety pack.

Can. Khaki head with lace. Dark copper brown.
Caramel, toffee, cocoa, grassy/piney hops. Smooth with a roasty finish.
Solid Porter offering from schells. Better than the autumn Porter.
