A bright, tart, blackberry aroma lifts up the lemon-like acidity against a backdrop of rich chocolate malts. Skirting the edge of fruit sour beer reality.

Dark Perimeter pours a dark purple, with a larger, long-lasting, fizzy head. The aroma is tart with blackberry notes. The flavor is sweet blackberries and a very tart finish. A great blend of sweet and sour. Overall, it is simple, sour, and sweet, with good fruit flavors and a very high-quality sour ale.

On tap. Very cloudy tootsie roll raspberry color.
Way too sour and vinegary. Tart fruit. Medicinal. Just tastes off. Very malty as well. I normally like the starkeller beers, but this is pretty undrinkable.

375ml bottle purchased in a Schell's Berliner Weisse variety 4-pack. No date on label. Pours purple or a cloudy burgundy. Minimal head. This thing smells very acidic, blackberry, and barnyard funk. Not usually a fan of dark sours but this is very light on the dark malt and keeps it wheat malt roots. Very acidic and borders on kettle sour levels and I don't think I have ever had this level of acidity in a Starkeller beer before. A lot of blackberry with a nice funky cheese background. Not the lightest beer or the most abundantly carbonated which is unfortunate. Would of like more life in the body. Not the best Berliner Schell's has produced but still quite good. I would of liked less acid and more funk but this is the way of sours nowadays.
