Schell’s No Frills is light-bodied, highly attenuated Pilsner. Malt sweetness gives way to a firm bitterness. The brew has a floral and spicy noble hop aroma.

On tap at the brewery.

Clear looking golden pouring beer in the glass. Nice slow moving stream of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. There's a bit of a white head to the beer.
The nose is fairly light. There's hints of biscuit, grain, and floral notes.
This beer is quite malty. Notes for grain hit hard in a pleasing way. There's notes of buttery biscuit in the middle. The finish has a nice sharp bitterness that lingers in my throat.
Body is quite crisp feeling. Very clean feeling beer. Smooth. Lingering bitterness.
This is a tasty beer overall. Well made and good to style.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from the Festival grocery store in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright grain forward malt with subtle grass presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

No Frills porus is an immaculate, golden color with a small head. The aroma is clean and crisp, bright cereal. The flavor has a nice bright cereal note, well balanced by a medium bitterness. Good feel. Overall, it has lots of flavor, is very well balanced, and overall, very enjoyable.

Have drank this so many times. Not sure where my review went. This pils is solid. Grassy, earthy, zesty. Bready and biscuity. Smooth, clean, easy drinking.

Just get a real german pilsner. Buy the import. And I'm saying that as someone who really tries to buy American when I can. But every single American version of German style ales and lagers just PALES in comparison (no pun intended). You can get a 12 pack of Paulaner for just about the same price that I got a 12 pack of this stuff.

This "no frills pils" gives you pleasant-tasting burps, and looks pretty good in the glass. But that's where the "pros" end, the rest is cons. Taste is incredibly boring and bland, and what little flavor is there is just a soapy flavor, and not the good kind like in certain extra pale hazy IPAs. It's a chore to finish the 12 pack, might just experiment mixing it with other beers.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours golden yellow orange with a small white head. Smells of sweet grain, slightly grassy. Tastes of grassy hops with just a hint of citrus. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Pours crystal clear yellow with a fast-fading white cap. Nice lacing. Aroma is faint, corn, biscuit, European noble hops and honey. Flavor follows the nose. Feel is light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a wonderful European Pilsner.

Looks great, like DUFF. Smells floral and grassy. More hops than I expected, but a mild and enjoyable pilsner otherwise. Crisp but also creamy. Great beer

Aroma is grainy/husky/beery malts. The flavor is fruit, slightly oily and a beery/husky malt/dry/bitter hop finish. Pretty standard, a little more bitter than expected, not a bad thing.

Poured from a can. Straw in color work lots of bubbles and a white head with some lacing. Smells of malt, grain and hints of floral. Taste follows the smell with a very light refreshing feel that ends with a slight bite. No frills, straight forward good pilsner.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of fizzy foam. It left sudsy patches of lace on the glass. It smelled of toasted caramel, bread crust and floral notes. Sweet caramel, toasted bread and a mild bitterness.

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, light yellow/golden color with a crisp white head. SRM of 6. (3.75)

Aroma: Mild aromas of pale malts, honey, with a light lemon note. (3.75)

Flavor: Mild flavors of flower and citrus hops with yeasty mouthfeel in the middle and carbonation. Then a light dry, grainy finish with a faint biscuit malt sweetness. Overall, finishes dry. Not bitter

Feel: Medium-light body. Moderate carbonation. A crisp, clean, and dry finish, yet smooth and not bitter. (3.75)

Compared to Fair State Pils 4/10/22: Pours similar, lighter head. More dry grains and yeast. Less lemon/lime and slightly lighter body. Less bitterness.

Compared to Indeed Pils 4/10/22: Pours similar, lighter head. Milder aromas. More dry grains. Less honey, lemon/lime citrus flavor. Lighter, cleaner, dryer.

Compared to Bad Weather Pils 11/2022: Pours a lighter color, stronger aromas. More lemon citrus. Less floral and grassy hops. Finishes sweeter and more citrusy with less dryness and bitterness.

Overall: A light and clean German Pilsner. Faint citrus and flower hops followed by a lightly sweet biscuit and dry grain malt profile. Sort of reminds of a slightly hoppier and citrus European lager such as Stella Artois. (Rating: 3.85)
