12oz bottled. Stamped on bottle neck is '031723 010987'.
Deep brown colored body. Thin tan head, which sticks around as a partial cap and ring. Leaves behind partial walls of lacing.
Aroma is dark roasted malts, with vanilla, caramel, dates, and bourbon barrel.
Taste is bourbon soaked dark roasted malts, with molasses, dates, oak, and vanilla. Sweet note in the bourbon soaked aftertaste.
Silky, medium weight mouth feel. Low alcohol burn, but lots of bourbon in the nose and flavor. Good supportive carbonation.
I look forward to trying this annual early winter release. The reward is bourbon flavored dark malts.

"Enjoy fresh" - that I will. Black look, spotty lace. Stinky sweet grain and bourbon scent. The taste is very sweet yet nuanced: chocolate, bourbon, caramel, vanilla. Oak, smoke, dark fruits. The outside of the taste is sweeter, while the inner core is all dark fruit and bourbon. Goes down effortlessly. The feel is the best part, it's silkenly smooth. I was very surprised to learn it was at 10+ ABV..
Just a pleasure to drink, and you only need one. I loved this beer and will be on the hunt for future additions to the series

They are reusing old labels (batch 7).
Bottle. Tan head, black color.
Roast, vanilla, char, fudge, molasses, caramel, toffee, raisins, figs. Very complex. Nice oak and whiskey notes. Awesome vintage for this.
