Poured from 12 oz bottle into snifter.
A: Pours a thick dark brown with 1-2 inch heavy appearing dark tan head. Finely-bubbled and frothy with excellent retention.
S: Sweet Tattersall whiskey, spicy grain, vanilla, roasted sweet malt, soft oak, and a touch of molasses and wood smoke. Intoxicating!
T: Sweet Tattersall whiskey, smooth chocolate and molasses, burnt oak, roasted dark malt, and spicy grain toward the finish. Hint of creamy vanilla.
M: Heavy body. Soft, creamy, and slightly syrupy feel. Layers of dark sweetness with grain/barrel spice to liven it up. Mildly bitter. Lingers and matures beautifully on the palate. ABV is extremely well hidden. Wow!
D: I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to encounter this beer. Simply superb! Layered and complex with excellent balance and barrel characteristics. Amazing! Seek it out!

A - Pours out mostly opaque black, with some brown translucent highlights. Very light tan head, some lacing.
S - A combination of roasted malts, a bit of chocolate and coffee, with wood and vanilla aspects.
T - A super smooth barrel aged brew, with nice vanilla and wood notes over a robust dark ale base. Then a dry, clean finish.
M - Moderate carbonation, very soft alcohol warmth, and subtle weight that makes this dangerous.
O - You would never be able to guess the 10% ABV here, and that is surprisingly good. Delicious, and incredibly easy to drink. Seek this out - I will be again next year.

The new batch is tattersal barrel aged. Not sure what the barrels are. Guessing some sort of whiskey. Khaki tan head. Black color.
Caramel, toffee, chocolate, cocoa, whiskey, light vanilla. Dark fruits, molasses. Kind of roasty.
Smooth, warming, easy drinking, flavorful. Fun to see local barrels used.
