Only available on tap at the Glockenspiel German Restaurant in St. Paul, specially made year round for them and only them, extraordinary to say the least. I wouldn't call it a limited edition, but more of a limited availibility.
Color is a nice caramel brownish amber with a thin off-white foamed head, faded fast, lace appears then falls back into the top of the beer fast. Smell is a nice moderate sweet malt, a tad fruitish and breadish notes, very fresh. Taste is mild and mellow of slightly tangy sweet roasted malt, well balanced and fairly wet with just a twinge of hop, but just barely noticeable. Feel is thin and light, quite refreshing, but could use more body and boldness.
The light feel and mellow taste makes for some serious drinkability, but maybe passable here at the Glockenspiel - they offer so many other top notch beers that would suffice in its place. I would like to think that A.S. would have a better offering for something so special. I was so excitied to order it, then whenst it hit upon the lips, no dreams were met.
