you can put nelson hops in just about anything and i am going to like it, so this being great was already a forgone conclusion based on the ingredient list, but it really is an excellent beer, i like this table saison/session belgian style, and these guys do them well. this is much less funky than their invisible hand series, no brett or weird yeast to it at all, much more of a clean sort of classic french saison or belgian strain of ale yeast. the hops here are fantastic, although i think more balanced and surprisingly somewhat less aromatic than the invisible hand series given the process and schedule with them. the nelson really jumps out in the nose, but the simcoe and equinox are just as evident in the flavor, which seems fruity and bright, but not particularly distinct for the strains. the malt base appears to be a belgian pils type, light but crackery and fresh. not much body here, but radiant carbonation keeps it from feeling thin, and there really isnt much bitterness at all. shades of white wine from the yeast on the back end is nice with the hops. good clean easy drinking beer thats interesting enough to hold my attention for an afternoon. well done with it!

Poured from a crowler filled at the brewery

L: Hazy straw yellow color, pours with very little head with very little lacing on the glass.

S: Toasted, crackery malt, lemon zest, citrus fruit, little bit of melon, and peppery yeast. A pretty solid aroma from a saison.

T: Pepper from the yeast, lemon zest, some melon, citrus from the hops and some medium bitterness, balanced out by toasted malt.

F: Pretty high carbonation, medium body.

O: A solid example of a saison.
