We took it slow with this one, aging it for 19 months in Laws San Luis Valley Straight Rye Whiskey Barrels before conditioning it on Belizean Cacao Nibs from Cultura Craft Chocolate, Toasted Coconut, Cassia Bark & Lactose for a truly decadent experience. Stay safe out there.

Brown edges and ring to a pitch black body. Rye barrel backs decadent chocolate truffles, light vanilla cream, coconut, and a finishing cinnamon in the nose. Taste the rye itself backs off a hair, but the molasses and whiskey caramel, with casia bark, and vanilla cream meld into the decadent chocolate beautifully, finish has strong booziness and the rye reintroduced that elevates away from the sweetness. Feel is medium-heavy bodied, a touch thinner for style, but smooth, very warm, and sneaky lush. Decadent stout without a sugary regret

Got this and two other Cerebral BA stouts in a trade for North Park Triple Vanilla Hazelunut Macaroons Before Dying. This one was labeled on Untappd as “We took it slow with this one, aging it for 19 months in Laws San Luis Valley Straight Rye Whiskey Barrels before conditioning it on Belizean Cacao Nibs from Cultura Craft Chocolate, Toasted Coconut, Cassia Bark & Lactose for a truly decadent experience. Stay safe out there.” If it’s close to as good as BBA Working Vacation, which I gave a 4.48, or Double Barrel Be Monsters, which I gave a 4.35, then I would be happy.
Poured a pittch-black color with one finger of tan head, which thinned out quickly. Calm setting underneath the head. Decent spotty lacing. Below average retention. (Sight - 3.25)
Smelled coffee first, followed by milk chocolate, rye whiskey, oaky barrel, chocolate syrup, toasted coconut, semi-char wood, anise, molasses and chocolate milk. Super boozy and didn’t really relent some 25 minutes in. Not as good out of the bottle. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted fantastic. So much better than the nose. In order got milk chocolate, coffee, chocolate syrup, cacao, toasted coconut, rye whiskey, oaky barrel, molasses, chocolate milk, anise and semi-char wood. (Taste - 4.50)
Full body. Sticky texture. Soft carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
I think I underrated this overall, but this was world-class. A nice beer. (Overall - 4.50)

On tap. Oily black color.
Massive coconut. Amazing. Warming bourbon. Smooth. Some vanilla. Cinnamon. Cocoa. Caramel. A very fine BA pastry stout.
