Dark for a saison, the spices work well to lighten up the dark malts. Wish the nose was more prevalent, but the flavor is wonderful

Bottle from Bert's
Dark brown color with a decent sized bubbly off white head that persists. Tart spicy earthy with hints of dark fruit on the nose. Brown sugary caramel maltiness with some light spices and hints of earth and ethanol to counter. Lightly spiced, pretty good beer.

From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on January 1, 2016.
The pour is dark amber-brown with a short-lived light tan head.
The aroma has a touch of Belgain bread, coriander, nutmeg, allspice, and anise. Kind of wooden.
Medium body.
More malt forward character and less of a spice character but there is a warming bitterness at the finish.
