Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance β The beer is served a deep mahogany reddish color with a tiny fizzy white head. The head fades very fast leaving just a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell βThe aroma of the brew is strongest of a sweet caramel and molasses smell along with some nice aromas of roasted malt and a little bit of a bready smell. Along with these aromas comes some lighter smells of a grainy nature as well as a little bit of a grassy smell.
Taste-The taste begins with sweet caramel and toasted malt flavor. As the taste advances the caramel transitions to a slightly more molasses taste, but still maintains the slightly more smooth caramel flavor at the end. Along with these transitions comes some flavors of a more toasted breadiness and a bit of earthy and grassy taste. In the end one is left with a rather nice, moderately sweet, but very drinkable malted and toasted flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel β The body of the brew is on the slightly maltier and thicker side with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the rich sweet tastes for the brew the feel is very nice and creates a very flavorful and nice fall drinking brew.
Overall β This was a very tasty and enjoyable brew overall. It was high in flavor all while maintaining a great smooth drinkability. This one I would recommend, especially with the fall season right around the corner.
