Had this beer back at the beginning of the year. Just now adding it to the database, also doing a review because I'm not a total sociopath. With a name like c4 (which I've heard they've changed), this beer could be very nice, very evil.
Pours a darker gold running to light amber color, think older school ibu crystal malt wars double ipas. Solid 1" creamy eggshell white head. So while it is an SRM shade darker than ideal, it does a great job with head formation and retention, the ol' mixed bag as they say. The aroma yields aspect of that caramel malty backdrop and what comes off as mostly bittering hops in the nose.
The taste reveals everything is packed in here. Ample barley and hops, albeit a higher degree of bittering like effect than aroma hops. Has a light bitter and alcohol sting to it. Hefty body relatively speaking.
This brewery charges elite tier pricing for decent tier hoppy products. If you're gonna bring the Fieldwork pricing, you better bring the requisite quality. This came up a little short.
