Turbid brick red with no head.
Punchy acid brings bright lemony cherry with a hint of aged cheese in faint oak. Over time, hints of marzipan.
Light bodied, but chewy in the finish.

A one-inch, almond head starts rocky and quickly condenses to one-half inch of pancake batter. That half inch holds for a few minutes before disappearing into a thin ring. None of this leaves any lace on a Pretentious Glass Company Pub Tulip. The beer is very dark copper, and mostly clear, with dark-red mahogany highlights. There is some sediment floating about.
Fruity alcohol is the initial impression and gives way to sour fermented berries. Cherries and currants immediately come to mind. Oak, while quite evident, is rather short of being powerful. Warmth adds red wine vinegar.
Wow! The tartness is dramatically over the top. The lips pucker, the tongue puckers, the teeth ring. Cherries and cranberries are very obvious, with cranberries taking the lead. It is very sweet, with a long, tart finish. Comparison with Jolly Ranchers is unmistakable.
This has a light-to-medium body, with a neutral texture. The exceptional dryness amplifies its tartness and makes the alcohol more present than one would expect. Carbonation is light and nibbles relentlessly.
While pleasantly tasty, this beer is difficult to consume. I decided to pair it with Gorgonzola which helped tame the tartness and allow more room for the berries and oak.

This one pours a light clear reddish color, with a small head, and a good amount of lacing.
This smells like sour cherry, red wine vinegar, and oak.
This is a pretty decent little beer, but the sour vinegar character is a bit overwhelming. I definitely would want to see a bit more malt complexity to balance out the vinegar, as the base beer is definitely thin. The cherry character is very nice, though.
This is light bodied, crisp, with a lingering vinegar thing on the end of each sip.
This was fun to try, but it had a few problems that need some fixing.
