DATE: July 4, 2020... OCCASION: tough to write a review between holding a three-team cornhole tourney, but here I go... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... this starts with a dark mahogany body that builds its off-white froth with small offerings of bubbles, piling to the glass's top before settling at a quarter-finger... its deep hue suggests something dark and is in there.... earthy notes, floral hints, the unmistakable scent of dill and cilantro--a slice of an herb garden in the glass here... cracker malts sweeten the deal... its body is nondescript, if not pleasing in its refreshment... little is wasted or celebrated as it moves swiftly to its end... its aftertaste is equally respectful, staying briefly... medium-bodied and sippable, as brewed... the Sorachi hops deliver its dill and cilantro, with the citrus softened by cracker malts... this is a good match for the day: with the heat in the low 90s and plenty of food to be had, this keeps the party going without too much sophistication or filling qualities...
