16 oz fresh Crowler to tulip
Look - hazy dark honey. Opaque. Thin half-finger off-white head that dissipates quickly
Aroma - dank hops. Mild grapefruit rind, but mostly Dankness. Some mild onion character
Taste - follows aroma, dank, mild onion, mild grapefruit rind.
Mouthfeel - fairly soft mouthfeel with a subdued but present hop bite. May be the crowler, but Carb feels more like cask ale than IPA or APA.
Overall - is this a true NE style? who's to say? I like it a lot. It's by no means a "juice bomb" as they say, but then that is subjective. For me, it is dank, not juicy. Mouthfeel is softer, but not "creamy". Flavor and aroma are again, dank, not juicy. Hazy? Yes! Missing a lot on hop flavor and aroma as compared to other NE style I've had the good fortune to sample.
So, for all of us in DFW looking for something to stand in line for so we can trade it for whatever we want...not sure this is it.
Will I buy more? Absolutely.
It's a really good beer. Yes.
3 nations is on my radar now.

32 ounce growler from On Rotation. Pours a hazy, murky, gold-orange with a nice foamy head. So far so good. Nose is a little muted for a true NE juicer, but some light citrus and pine do come through. Flavor follows suit: orange juice, hints of tropical fruits, some orange jam, and a moderate bitterness. Maybe a touch bitter for the style. Mouthfeel is great though - almost perfect to style. Overall, a great attempt at the NE haze bomb, but needs to be dialed in a little more. Will gladly buy again!

On draft at the brewery. This is a very nice shot at a NE ipa i guess. The problem is that its just hazy, however it doesnt reflect any of the actually important aspects of a NE IPA. The dry hop is pretty minimal, the body is medium but certainly not strong, minimal sweetness, and overall it tastes like a german bitter with low malt and hops added. But good first go

Pours a very cloudy/hazy/milky darker yellow orangish golden color with white head. Citrus, pine, light fruits, and plenty of juiciness on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium to full bodied. Nice mouthfeel on this one. Finishes with a solid balance of fruitiness and hop bitterness, would have liked it to be a little juicier, but overall a solid example of the style.
