Our golden stout is brewed with an abundance of oats, honey malt, and lactose milk sugar. This beer weighs in at 8.5% ABV and is finished with almond extract and whole coffee beans creating a "cold brew". Intense coffee and almond aromas, with nearly peanut butter like taste and coffee finish.

can into tulip

pours a slightly hazy amber colored body with a bubbly cream colored head that has just under 10 seconds of retention before it turns to a micro-halo around the cap haha. fizzy tiny bubbled lacing sticks for a moment before sliding on down

smell is nutty sweet malt (mostly peanut butter, slightly almond-like as well) with a side of coffee spiked with honey that punctuates with a slight "tang"

taste is a smooth oat and peanut-buttery flavor with a side of coffee and a finishing dry almond and coffee bean bitterness/tang combo. dash of dark stone fruit that clings to the coffee.

moderate carbonation and medium body that fades from smooth (thanks, oats) and lush to crisp crackles before it lands on a dry finish.

overall:
whoa. wild man. imagine Reeses doing a "more-coffee-than-chocolate" edition with like a 30% almond butter mix with the PB and then it totally sticks the weird landing, and this is whatcha got. inventive and provoking. love the mad-scientist vibe of messing with the stout style this way. it won't ever be one of the greats, but it's one hell of a deep cut "b-side" that'll impress the adventurous crowd.

Poured from a can into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a clear deep amber color with a tiny head of fizzy foam. The head fades almost instantly leaving no lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the brew is huge of a nice rich chocolate smell (even without the dark look) with a moderately strong showing of some caramel and a bit of bradiness. Along with these smells comes a bit of toffee and almond as well as a touch of vanilla.

Taste – The taste begins with a sweet milk chocolate flavor mixed with a big doughy flavor that has a bit of breadiness. Along with these flavors is a rather decent showing of a caramel sweetness mixed with notes of honey, toffee, and a little bit of light fruit. As the taste advances the caramel, honey, and toffee get quite a bit stronger and are joined by some vanilla and a touch of nuttiness. At the same time, the chocolate fades a bit, and with a little bit of a coffee flavor as well as an herbal taste that come to the flavor profile at the end, one is left with a caramel/toffee sweet and moderately chocolaty taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the slightly thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the sweet and rich taste of the brew the feel is rather nice and creates a nice slow dessert like sipper.

Overall – A sweet, light (in color) chocolate flavored brew with a big hit of flavor. A rather fun brew to try.

12oz can with no dating on it (typically dated with a tag on the can holder), only bought a single.
1 finger off white, creamy head. Decent retention - hangs in at a cap. Spotty lacing.
Deep golden / copper color with very good clarity. Definitely a "golden" stout.
Nutty almond and fruity mild coffee. Honey. Deep, rich, enticing nose.
Nutty, almond butter / peanut butter...very light but flavorful coffee.
Medium body, low to medium carbonation with a creamy and smooth (slick) mouthfeel.
Semi-sweet finish that lingers, gets close to the edge of to sweet (for my palate) but doesn't leap over.
Great surprise.
Outstanding.
