12 FL OZ. bottle
Served in a becker glass
This beer pours copper colored with some deep amber highlights. It is capped with three inches of tan head that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is toasted bread and biscuit with a little bit of caramel.
The taste is caramel and toast with mild bitterness. Caramel lingers through the finish.
Medium mouthfeel
This is an above average beer that is easy drinking.

I picked up a bottle of Old Nation's 10 Penny Bit for $1.79 at The Lager Mill. I'm in the mood for a Scotch Ale today, so lets see how it goes. 2015 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a imperial pint glass.
A- The label is ok looking, it's got a clean design, but it's not the most eye catching. It poured a brown and amber color and it took on more of a ruby red and orange hue when held to the light with two and half fingers worth of fluffy light tan head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some patchy lacing behind. This is a very nice looking beer, I have no complaints at all.
S- The aroma starts off with a slightly lower amount of medium sweetness with the malts being the first to show up and they impart some caramel malt, sweet malt, toasted malt, bread and bread crust like aroma with a little bit of doughy yeast showing up in the background. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, it's what I would expect from the style.
T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the malts still being the first to show up and the impart the same aspects that they did in the aroma with the caramel malts and bready flavors sticking out the most. Up next comes some doughy yeast and on the finish there's pretty much no bitterness with just a slight hoppy taste at the end. This is a pretty nice tasting beer and it's true to style.
M- Smooth, a little creamy, not too crisp, medium bodied with a lower amount of medium carbonation. This beer had a pretty nice mouthfeel that worked well with it.
Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and good example of the style, everything seemed right in line with the style and nothing seemed out of place. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple, but that would be my limit. What I like the most about this beer is how true to style it is, it's just what I would expect for a basic Scotch Ale. What I like the least about this beer is nothing, there's isn't anything that wasn't suppose to be there. I would buy this beer again when in the mood for the style and I would recommend it to anyone who likes the lighter Scotch Ales. All in all I liked this one, it was pretty basic, but it was true to style and nothing was wrong with it. It made for a good first impression for this brewery and it's a nice example of the style. Nice job guys, this is a solid Scotch Ale.
