22 ounce bottle, no date seen. Purchased at the brewery in February of 2018 I believe. Unintentionally aged. Poured into lexan tulip.
Pours a ruby brown, or copper, light tan head with decent lacing. The nose is stone fruit, plums, purple grapes, red berry. Not what I was expecting but it was not bad. Maybe the aging killed the coffee. Taste is some sort of red berry, or red licorice, gourmet chocolate nibs, dark but smooth espresso, earthy hops and slight citrus hops at the finish. Medium body, good drinkability, especially on the beach around a fire. I enjoyed it.

A - Largely opaque dark brown, with slight translucence. The pour yields a tiny off white head that fades to a minimal ring. The lacing is surprisingly extensive and lovely.
S - There is a strong coffee note, slightly ashy, with a sweeter caramel malt undercurrent.
T - The caramel malt hit comes forward in the flavor, with a strong acidic coffee note coupling with it, and a bright bitter finish.
M - Moderate feel, medium on the tongue but with a slight residual finish. The dry close is most apparent as a lingering hint on the tongue that draws you to take another drink.
O - The malt forwardness is expected with an Altbier. An imperial Altbier is not particularly consistent with style but this does manage it, which is exceptional. The coffee is present but not particularly unique. The bitterness of the close is a welcome contrast to the sweetness of the open. All told, a solid beer.

A - Pours a hazy amber burgundy brown color with a thick of white colored bubbly lacing ring.
S - Toasted malt and coffee aroma.
T - Toasted earthy malt and coffee with some piney coffee bitterness on the back end.
M - Big medium body, silky smooth, little to no carbonation.
O - A very interesting hybrid beer.

Horrible stuff, Old Nation can make a good M-43 & Boss Tweed, outside of that they're pretty much horrible:
Poured into snifter:
L: scotch ale look with red copper, caramel look
A: No coffee and no smell. Should smell coffee but nope nothing almost smells like a cleaning product
F: heavy but quickly dissolves
T: stale coffee, caramel, boozy, metal, horrible after taste
O: possibly worse coffee beer and possibly one of the worse beers. If it weren't for the 10.3% abv I'd rather have a Natty Ice.
Nevertheless taste slightly improved halfway through as it warms but much better scotch ales and coffee beers on the market.
Btw it's fresh as I bought it from brewery itself. No date but if it's old that's on the brewery.
