Had on-tap at Old Nation Brewing in Williamston, MI
Appearance - Served up in a 12oz snifter, pure black with only a hint of cola brown where light can penetrate. Thin, broken layer if suds rest on top. Not much for lacing, outside a a small line or two that hang low around the surface.
Smell - The aroma is magically fudgy with lesser cake batter sweetness.
Taste - The flavor is pure chocolate cake batter. Hint of vanilla, earth and tartness on the edge and a touch of warming booze.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with moderate, tingly carbonation. Smooth and slick upfront before a dry, thinning and slightly sticky finish.
Overall - Delicious at first but the sweet, simple flavor profile quickly gets tiring. Probably best served as a small, after dinner drink.
