A nice pale ale that had good hoppiness but with a little bit of a strange bitter bite at the finish. Pours a nice looking slightly hazy yellow-orange color with some fluffy white head and small rings of lingering lacing. Smells of some ripe fruity citrus hops - mainly tangerine, lemon and grapefruit - along with some malt, piney hops, caramel and bread. Taste follows the nose, good amount of bitterness at the finish and it left a strange aftertaste - almost like pepper or tea. Smooth, clean, mild mouthfeel and good carbonation. A decent pale ale, will try more from this solid brewery.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/16/2019. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden/amber/green color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, spicy rye bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, spicy rye bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and rye spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, spicy rye bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a fantastic NEAPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Nicely soft and not overly aggressive. Fantastic Simcoe, Amarillo profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a great balanced wheat/oat/rye malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected. Not as soft as the original, but will probably improve over the next few weeks.
