With the introduction of 70+ West Coast IPA (ABV 6.8%), Old Nation brings a classic, straight down the middle pilsner malt bill with a more classic aggressive 72 IBU providing the traditional bitter balance of the style. Using a combination of Columbus and Simcoe hops for their pine/resiny notes along with Amarillo for citrus and floral notes, Old Nation’s brewers added the proprietary Idaho 7 for a new-school tropical twist.

Pretty good IPA!! Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer has a clear gold color (becomes more hazy by the end of the drink) and a big foamy white head with good retention. There is a moderate amount of foamy lacing on the glass. Aroma includes both pine and grapefruit and a floral aspect as well. Taste is more of the same with a good mix of piney and citrus (grapefruit) hops. Bitterness is a bit more subdued than I would like in a West Coast IPA but overall the flavor was good. Mouthfeel was crisp and light, the pine did not produce a resiny "feel". Bitterness is fairly mild, there is no alcohol aftertaste or "burn". This one goes down easy!!

Should have been rated much higher than 87 via BeerAdvocate, actually a really good IPA. Look, Smell, Taste, Feel and overall at 4 or better. Oh well.

Pours a very foggy golden color, quickly receding white head and some spotty lacing. Hoppy aroma and that's about it, taste isn't worth mentioning. I was expecting an old school WC IPA. Oh well.

Pours clear, with a nice foam cap. I expected a classic throwback but this is definitely in the new school hop profile. Floral and fruity nose, lemony, and lightly bitter in spite of it’s advertised ibu intensity. Easy drinker.

Chunky. Skunked and filled with floaty pieces.
